This seminar presentation examines the changing requirements for technicians in today’s organizational context. It focuses on the shift from purely technical expertise toward comprehensive action competence that integrates technical, organizational, and social skills. Driven by digitalization, automation, and increasing system complexity, professional roles and expectations are undergoing significant transformation. Technicians increasingly act as interfaces between technology, organization, and strategic decision-making. The presentation highlights which competencies are gaining importance, which are losing relevance, and discusses the implications for education and professional practice.
