PAPER BIOECONOMY CONFERENCE<\/h2>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=““ text_direction=“default“]Claudia Mayrhofer und Armin Zankel were participants at the PAPER BIOECONOMY CONFERENCE; which took place on May 20th and 21st at the \u201cMesse Graz\u201c (https:\/\/paper-bioeconomy.com\/de\/).
\n\u201cThe programme was diverse and inspiring. There was a spirt of industrial progress with the clear consciousness of the presenting companies and institutions, that paper industry plays a central role in the context of sustainability\u201d is their unanimous opinion.
\nArmin, a pioneer in the field of in situ ultramicrotomy in the scanning electron microscope (SEM), gave a talk in the so-called \u201cScience Forum\u201d with the title \u201eAdvances in ultramicrotomy for the microscopic investigation of soft matter materials with emphasis on cellulosic specimens\u201c. Ultramicrotomy is a precise preparation technique, which was advanced in the recent years by Claudia together with companies.
\nThere were many opportunities to get in touch with companies, for which the FELMI-ZFE expertise is relevant, since the FELMI-ZFE has gained experience over decades concerning the investigation of paper, fibers and biomaterials using electron and light microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), infrared and Raman spectroscopy.
